Yep, we´re at part III of the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru story. And this really is the best part. This is when we were hiking up to Mount Penanjakan. This is where you get that super famous view over the Tengger Caldera.

Getting to the top
To get to the top of Mount Penanjakan, you can decide to hike from the village of Cemoro Lawang, or take a tourist bus. Usually the buses drive you up there to see the sunrise, which I´ve seen pictures from, and is amazing. Unfortunately this includes a lot of tourists as well. We like travelling by ourselves and enjoying nature alone. And we´re also really, REALLY, tired in the early mornings. So we decided to hike up to the top later in the day. And life isn´t supposed to be easy. Every view that´s got an effort behind it, is a much GREATER view!
The climb is very steep and it´s extremely hard to understand where the trail goes from time to time. There are no signs, and not that many other people are hiking this route. They´re being lazy bastards and taking a transport to the top. But as I said, I feel so much better when I´ve earned my view! When you can´t find your way: just go straight up, it´s there somewhere!
On the top.
Bromo-Tengger-Semeru national park is one of the most memorable places I´ve been so far. It is exciting, beautiful and extraordinary! I will give it a solid five out of five, of course…. If you´re in the neighbourhood, don´t forget this place exists! You will regret it later!
