I always had this dream about hang gliding. Soaring through the sky like a bird. Without a sound. Almost like a ninja! I have dreamt about this since I was a child. But then I started flying, and the dream became less insistent. I was already up in the sky, but without that wind in my face.
One day when I was at the airstrip in Toogoolawah, Australia, this man came along with a small, weirdly shaped, flying machine. I ask the man what it was, and he said “it´s an microlight, do you want to buy it?” And god knows I DID want to buy it! It looked like a lot of fun! To describe it I would say it was like a hang glider but with an engine. My old dream became a new dream. I wanted to learn how to fly microlights!
Yes! This feels right!
You know what to do
So I did. I went to a flight school in Caboolture and learnt how to fly a microlight. It´s like driving a motorcycle, but in the air! I loved it! I even got my boyfriend Håkan to come with me to do the same thing. He also loved it!
Practising microlight above Caboolture.
Scratching it off my bucketlist
I thought to myself “well, this is kind of a hang glider, only a hang glider 2.0?” so I decided to take it of my bucketlist. I was content with not trying the hang glider before I died. But if an opportunity comes up to try it, I will. It is just not one of my “must-do-things” anymore. This is not one of the things I will regret not doing, on my deathbed. Hang gliding 2.0 is equally awesome, and I am fine with it:) Do you got anything on your bucketlist that you do not care if you do or not? Please tell me:)
Microlight flying gets a shocking 5 out of 5 stars!
Take off in Caboolture.
Finally I can call myself a “Micropilot” aswell! ;-D
