Adopt a dog

I always wanted to do something for animals. I give money to different charity’s every month. But I wanted to do something that involved more than just my money. I wanted to adopt a dog from a shelter! I had a dog since I was 15. His name was Laban. Even he was kind of an “rescue”. He was a mixed breed between a lot of different crazy hunting dogs. They were going to put him down if someone wasn´t willing to take him. So I did. I got 15 years filled with tears, laughter, blood, cuddle, worrying and so much fun with that dog. I loved him to bits. He died when he was really old and the cancer had taken it´s toll on him.

New dog

So I wanted to get another dog. I couldn´t bare to live without one. And this time I was going to do the “very” right thing. I was going to adopt from a shelter. A dog that hadn´t had the best time growing up. Someone that just needed some love.

I found this cute little bugger in a pond in Ireland. I didn´t think it through that much so I just sent my resumé and got an instant answer. She could be on her way in approximately 2 weeks. Cool cool cool cool cool, I said.

And the rest is history.

Krut

Today I have had my dog “Krut” (which means gunpowder in english) for 7 month. And I appreciate every day. She is such a wonderful dog, even though she is crazy as f***! 🙂

She really matches the autumn!

Conclusion

I really need people to think before getting a new dog. Do you really need some fancy resumé on your dog? Maybe you could save a life instead? If we stop this insane business of breeding dogs that aren´t really healthy, but only “look good”, maybe, just maybe, we can stop animals from getting out on the street, and getting hurt.

Please adopt, don´t shop.
